Comparison With River Sand
River Sand
River sand is a worn out particles of stone. River sand contains particles of various types of stones. Hence, each and every particle is not having similar crushing strength. River sand contains impurities like Shells, Coal, Organic Material, Wood, Bones, Silt. These impurities decay in due course of time. Hence, reduces the life of Construction.
As per IS Standard, sand must contained different sizes of particles in specified proportion. In actual, at present fine particle below 600 microns are in less quantity in river sand. In such case, using river sand may require toning to make the sand as per IS Standard. The fineness modules of sand drag from the any river is not similar. Hence for quality work sand from each and every truck must be tested and concrete design must be alter accordingly. This is very tedious process but there is no alternative to get proper strength of the construction. Any general person can not have such facility may result in inferior quality of construction
Sand is a very important ingredient in concrete. Inferior quality of sand may decrease the strength of the concrete. If sand is not carefully selected may result in weaker construction.
VS
Artificial Sand
Artificial sand is made from selected and tested stone. This sand does not contain any impurity. The sand manufactured from Akashganga’s Sand making machine have no deviations in fineness modules. The machine is designed in such a way so that there is no effect of wear of parts. The sand produced by our Machine have same fineness modules. That is the reason strength of each and every particle is same. The main benefit of Artificial sand manufactured from Akashganga’s Sand making machines that the quality of the concrete does not very. As there is no impurity present in sand, strength of the construction work does not hamper and gives longer life.
The sand manufactured from Akashganga’s machine fitted with DFP technology does not required any washing and can be used for all types of work including plastering. Sand manufactured from other machines can not be used for plastering purpose as it develops cracks in setting.
TEST REPORTS OF CONCRETE MADE BY RIVER SAND AND ARTIFICIAL SAND
Followings are the actual result of Concrete Designed with river sand and Artificial sand.
Proportions are by weight Mix Design M 15 M 55 concrete is designed for River sand and artificial sand.
Results are as follows:
1) With using River sand :
Strength achieved after 7 days curing………..174.81 Kg/Cmsq.
2) With using Artificial sand :
Strength achieved after 7 days curing …….186.67 Kg / Cmsq.
Similar test is performed with higher grade Concrete Mix Design M 55 M 55 concrete is designed for River sand and artificial sand.
Results are as follows:
1) With using River Sand :All proportions are by weight
Strength achieved after 7 days curing …….441 Kg per Sq.cm
With using Artificial Sand : All proportion are by weight:
Strength achieved after 7 days curing …….468.14 Kg per Sq.cm
Conclusion:
From the above design results it can be observed that the strength of Concrete increases with Artificial Sand. More over the presence of Fines in artificial sand increases the workability and gives more sound Concrete. The slabs, using Artificial sand, are more leak proof than by river sand.
